Raj Kapoor died in 1988 when Karisma Kapoor was 13 and Kareena was seven. In an interview, Kareena said that the veteran actor had a special bond with Karisma and that she felt left out.

Asked if she has any memories of him, Kareena told Simi Garewal in 2002, “Of course. Absolutely. But I have to be honest, he loved my sister way more than me.” When asked why she always complained about it and why she felt this way, Kareena explained: “I think my sister has the blue eyes he had. At least from what I can remember, she always got all the presents and all the presents. chocolates.”

Recalling one such example of the bond between Karisma and Raj, Kareena said, “He loved mangoes and kept them in his fridge. And no one was allowed to go into his room except Lolo (Karisma) to eat the whole mangoes. And I became always locked out and never got one.” Kareena agreed that it could be because she was very young and Raj couldn’t communicate with her like he did with Karisma, who was seven years her senior. She added that she loved him very much.”

Kareena will next star in Laal Singh Chaddha, an adaptation of Tom Hanks starrer Forrest Gump. The Aamir Khan starrer is slated for a theatrical release on August 11. She will also make her OTT debut with Sujoy Ghosh’s adaptation of The Devotion of Suspect X, which also stars Vijay Varma and Jaideep Ahlawat.
