Tom said in the video, “Hi guys, so I’ve been trying to do this for an hour now, and for someone who’s spent the past 13, 14 years, no matter how long I’ve been acting, I can’t seem to say what to say without “ummen” and “ring the bell” every five minutes. So I’m going to try again. So I’ve been taking a break from social media for my mental health, because I find Instagram and Twitter overstimulating, to be overwhelming. I get caught up and i spin when i read things about me online and in the end it is very harmful to my mental state so i decided to take a step back and uninstall the app.”

He added: “On this very, very brief return to Instagram, I thought it would be very important and a good idea to shed some light on a charity we sponsor, which is vote4. Stem4 is a great innovative education program His groundbreaking apps, clinically advised website, and mental health conferences have contributed to helping young children who are suffering.”

Tom captioned the video: “Hello and goodbye…I’ve been taking a break from social media for my mental health but felt compelled to come here to talk about @stem4org. Stem4 is one of the many charities @thebrotherstrust very proudly supports – and I’d like to take a moment to highlight their amazing work. Please take the time to watch my video, and if you’re in the mood to share it with someone it might resonate with, it would be very be appreciated.”

Singer Justin Bieber commented, “I love you man.” One fan said: “I think we all need a break from Instagram sometimes. Bye, Tom.” Another said: “It’s okaayyy Tom, I hope you have a great life.” A fan pointed to Tom’s recent statement saying he might stop acting one day. The fan wrote: “I thought he was about to say he’s quitting acting.” A fan also said: “I love you and I fully understand how social media affects mental health.” One comment also read: “I’m about to cry.”

Tom’s Spider-Man: No Way Home was released last year and grossed more than $1.9 billion worldwide. He was later seen in Uncharted as Nathan Drake. He will next be seen in the role of Fred Astaire in his self-titled biopic. Tom announced the news last year.
