The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting organized a special screening of: R Madhavan‘s upcoming movie Rocketry: The Nambi Effect in New Delhi on Monday. The screening was attended by Rocketry’s team led by writer-director and lead actor Madhavan. Also in attendance were former CBI director DR Karthikeyan, former IG CBI PM Nair, senior government officials and film industry stakeholders. The film was praised by the audience for its script, editing, acting and portrayal of Nambi Narayanan’s inspiring life story. During the screening, Madhavan said the film is a celebration of India’s technological prowess in the aerospace and IT sectors. Calling it “a tribute to the master Nambi Narayanan whose ‘vikas’ engine never failed”, he said that “it also conveyed the message of India’s soft power skills to the world regarding expertise in human resources and scientific excellence’.
After the screening, Apurva Chandra, secretary of I&B, said the film is not only gripping but also touches the hearts of the audience. He said: “The film pays tribute to the thousands of scientists, including Nambi Narayanan, who have devoted their entire lives to the achievements of the Indian space program.”
Rocketry is the biopic of Nambi Narayanan, a former ISRO scientist and aerospace engineer, who was falsely accused of espionage in 1994. Madhavan plays the title role in the film, which is expected to release on July 1. The film marks the actor’s directorial debut.
missiles recently had its world premiere at the 75th Cannes Film Festival, where it received a standing ovation from the audience. The film was shot simultaneously in Tamil, Hindi and English and will also be released in Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada dubbed versions. Shah Rukh Khan and Suriya appear in cameos in different versions of the film.
