Late Kollywood star Sivaji GanesanDaughters Shanti and Rajvi have filed a legal complaint in Chennai High Court against their siblings Prabhu and Ramkumar. Judging by the report, they have alleged that their brothers falsely seized their assets using a fake will. At the presentation of the will, they transferred some properties in the name of their sons. They further claimed that Prabhu and Ramkumar did not contribute to the acquisition of these assets and that therefore they should have been able to acquire them in this way.
The complaint was filed under the Hindu Succession Act, which came into effect in 2005. The complainants have urged the court for a proper distribution of the assets. They claim that, as daughters of Sivaji Ganesan, they have an equal right to their father’s property.
For those who don’t know, Sivaji Ganesan was a leading Tamil hero in the 20th century. He left for a heavenly abode in 2001 after ill health. His properties in the state of Tamil Nadu are believed to be worth around Rs.270 crores. During the last 21 years since Sivaji Ganesan’s death, his family has formed a united front, and his property has been managed by his four legal heirs.
Prabhu is considered to be the most famous among Sivaji Ganesan’s four children as he has starred in over 100 films. In addition, his brother Ramkumar has also acted in a number of films. Ramkumar is also part of politics as a loyal BJP member.
