The Indian dance choreographer died of cardiac arrest and her death sent a wave of grief across the country. Saroj Khan started working from the age of 3 and from a child star to a backing dancer to eventually one of Bollywood’s leading choreographers, Saroj Khan’s career has been inspiring to say the least.

Throughout her career, Saroj Khan choreographed a large number of lead actors and actresses such as Madhuri Dixit, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Aamir Khan and Karisma Kapoor, among others. In an old interview about stardom and his work, SRK had shared an anecdote shared by top choreographer Saroj Khan who once told Shah Rukh Khan never to say no to work because if you don’t get a job you feel very bad. “I once learned from Saroj Khan that ‘beta kaam jab mile na toh Kabhi na mat kehna Kyunki jab nahi milta toh buhut dookh hota hai’ and someone like Saroj Khan told you that means a lot,” SRK shared, adding: have seeing people struggle to get work, get work and then be at the top and then not get work.” SRK revealed that if these words of wisdom come from Saroj Khan, it should mean a lot and also, SRK added that Saroj ji even told him: “Never say Ki arre yaar Kitna kaam hai, karte jaana, koi paisa de toh khushi se Le lena Kyunki kaafi opportunities hai ki Zindagi bhar nahi rahega.”
