Lucknowite actor Santosh Shukla, who has played the roles of a police officer and army personnel in films, claims that through films he is fulfilling his dream of serving the nation.

“As a teenager when I watched Border (1997), I really wanted to join the Indian Army. I have learned that nothing for us should be above the nation. We have seen in the past that when it comes to doing something for our country, we are all united regardless of everything else,” said the Jai Ho and dabangg3 actor.

Speaking of his journey from Lucknow to movies, Shukla adds, “Filmo se lagaav tha hi en khud ko parde pe dekhe ki chahat thhi…so I decided to pursue acting full time. As an artist, I am living a dream to serve my country through entertainment. I still enjoy driving through the Cantonment area on my visits to Lucknow. I believe that even without a uniform we can do our best to support our country in any way we can!”

The big boss Fame actor recalls “I played Garhwal Regiment soldier Dilbagh Singh in the movie Khatoon which was based on the war between India and China. We shot 25 days in the interior of Himachal Pradesh in 2017. I even lost 16 kg to play the lead role, but unfortunately the film could not come out. then with Bachchan Pandey I got a chance to play ACP Suryakant Mishra. Wearing a uniform is very special to me.”

Shukla recently shot for the second long-short film schedule Gulabi Reveric in Lucknow with co-actors Lekha Prajapati, Nazia Hussain and Akanksha Pandey. “We’re going to record a song this month. Also another feature film with Sajid (Nadiadwala) bhai and also a 60 minute web film Miyan Majboor Hai that we will start shooting in Lucknow this year.
