Randeep Hooda wrote an emotional note for the late Dalbir Kaur when he remembered her at the first Raksha Bandhan after her death. Dalbir was the sister of late Sarabjit Singh, who started a fight to get him back to India after being sentenced to death by a Pakistani court for alleged terrorism and espionage. While Sarbjit died in 2013 after being attacked by his inmates, Dalbir Randeep declared to her brother after the actor played him in the 2016 film Sarbjit. Randeep took to his social media accounts on Thursday to mark the occasion of Raksha Bandhan to pay tribute to Dalbir, who died of a heart attack on June 26 in Bhikhiwind near Amritsar, Punjab. The actor shared a photo of him posing with Dalbir and his sister Anjali Hooda.

He captioned it: “When one goes away, you realize the preciousness of the other.. aapki raakhi ka mahatva aur bhi ubhar ke saamne aaya hai Dalbir ji .. aap jahan bhi hain mujhe yakeen hai ke aapka aashirvaad mere upar banrakhi rahega je has now emerged more prominently, Dalbir Ji. I am confident that wherever you are, your blessings will always be with me).’

Randeep also added a note for his sister Anjali, in which he wrote: “I love you and I support you through thick and thin.” She replied in the comment section of his Instagram post, writing, “Thank you bhai.” She also added the post to Instagram Stories, writing, “I love you too bro.”

Randeep had previously shared a photo with Dalbir Kaur when he posted a tribute after her death. The actor had also shouldered her bier and performed her final rituals to fulfill a promise he had made to her. He also organized a prayer meeting for her with her relatives in July and was referred to as her “brother” on the invitation cards.
