Ranbir Kapoor is currently waiting for the release of the historical drama film Shamshera, starring Sanjay Dutt and Vaani Kapoor. The film is long awaited as it marks the comeback of Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani actor after his 2018 release, Sanju. A few days ago, the creators unveiled the trailer for Shamshera and fans have been praising his performance and are currently waiting to see Ranbir in a never-before-seen avatar. Recently, Yash Raj Films launched a three-episodic candid video series, titled RK Tapes, featuring Ranbir.
Earlier today, the latest episode of RK Tapes was released which features the actor of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil talking about the villains of Bollywood. In the video, Ranbir talks about his love for the bad guys of Hindi cinema, the towering villains who make the hero bigger. He also mentioned his favorite on-screen villains – the iconic Amjad Khan as Gabbar Singh in Sholay, Amrish Puri as Mogambo in Mr. india, Ranveer Singh as Alauddin Khilji in Padmaavat and etc. He also mentioned Shah Rukh Khan‘s role in Darr the “Most Iconic”. Furthermore, Ranbir said that Sanjay Dutt is one of the best villains of recent times, the ultimate Khalnayak. “He also plays the role of a villain in Shamshera and I would have loved to play that part.”

He further added that his dream is to play a negative role in his career. He jokingly said after writing a villain that he wants people to tell their children: ‘soy beta warna Ranbir aajayega.’ The actor said: “As the cinema evolves, the characters of the villains also become interesting and complex. I look forward to the bad guys we have yet to see, the actors who scare us and the villains who redefined evil.”
Meanwhile, Ranbir’s shamshera is scheduled for release on July 22, 2022 in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
