Members of the Kapoor family took to social media to pay tribute to the late Rajiv Kapoor on his birthday. Rajiv, the youngest son of Raj Kapoor, died of a heart attack in February last year. On the occasion of his birthday on Thursday, Neetu Kapoor and Riddhima Kapoor Sahani, among others, shared unseen photos of the late actor to commemorate him. Neetu Kapoor took to her Instagram Stories to remember her late brother-in-law. Rajiv was the younger brother of the late Rishi Kapoor, Neetu’s husband. Neetu shared an unseen photo of him with his siblings, simply writing, “In memory of Rajiv Kapoor”, an emoji with folded hands and a heart.
The photo featured all five children of Raj Kapoor, Randhir Kapoor, Rishi Kapoor, Rajiv Kapoor, Reema Jain and Ritu Nanda pose together. The photo appeared to be from a Raksha Bandhan celebration as all three brothers had tikas on their foreheads and Randhir also had a rakhi tied around his wrist.
Neetu’s daughter Riddhima Kapoor Sahanic also remembered her uncle by sharing a throwback photo of Rishi and Rajiv on her Instagram stories. Reema Jain’s son Armaan Jain also shared a photo of him and his wife Anita Shroff Adjania posing with Rajiv. The actor captioned it: “Happy Birthday Chimpu Mama. We miss you and love you so much…”
Rajiv, the youngest of Raj Kapoor’s three sons, made his acting debut with the 1983 film Ek Jaan Hain Hum. He is best known for his work in the 1985 hit Ram Teri Ganga Maili. He made his comeback in films after a long hiatus of 30 years with Toolsidas Junior. It also became his last film and was released more than a year after his death.
