Actor R Madhavan responded after Twitter users disagreed with his comment that the reason behind the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO)’s successful rocket launch into space for its Mars mission was due to its use of Panchang (the Hindu calendar) . On Twitter, R Madhavan said he deserved the trolling because it was “very ignorant” of him. (Read also | R Madhavan Won’t ‘Direct’ After Rocketry: The Nambi Effect†
The actor wrote: “(Emojis with folding hands) I deserve this because I called the Almanac the ‘Panchang’ in Tamil. Very ignorant of me. (Don’t see angry monkey, hug, rocket and red heart emojis). Although this can’t take away from the fact that what has been achieved by us with only 2 engines by us in the Mars mission. A record in itself. @NambiNOfficial Vikas engine is a rock star. (rocket and red heart emojis.” R Madhavan shared an article where he was trolled on Twitter and posted his tweet.
Recently, a video of the actor was shared on Twitter and musician TM Krishna translated his quote: “Indian rockets did not have the three engines (solid, liquid and cryogenic) that help western rockets propel themselves into Mars orbit. Because India didn’t have this… used information in the Panchang.’
“It has the sky map with all the information about different planets, gravity, deflection of solar flares etc, all calculated perfectly thousands of years ago and hence the microsecond the launch was calculated using this information. The rocket launched, went around the Earth, the moon and the moon of Jupiter and bounced off like a toy and entered Mar’s orbit,” he also said.
On Twitter, one person wrote: “He discovered everything while directing a single movie?” Another user tweeted, “Science isn’t everyone’s cup of tea. It’s okay not to know science.” “R Madhavan has officially become a WhatsApp uncle of a chocolate boy,” said another person.
Meanwhile, R Madhavan will next be seen in Rocketry: The Nambi Effect. The actor has written, produced and acted in the film. It is a biopic about Nambi Narayanan, a former ISRO scientist and aerospace engineer, who was falsely accused of espionage. The film will be released in theaters around the world on July 1.
Rocketry: The Nambi Effect was simultaneously recorded in Hindi, Tamil and English and will be dubbed into Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada. This is R Madhavan’s first film as a director.
