Actor turned fitness enthusiast Milind Soman recently met Prime Minister Narendra Modi. On Wednesday, Milind shared a photo of himself with the prime minister from the prime minister’s office in Delhi. The actor said he met Prime Minister Modi after the conclusion of his recent “unity run” and that the two talked about their “mutual interest in ancient Indian traditions of sport, health and fitness”. Milind posted a photo of the two on Twitter, writing: “I was thrilled to meet Hon PM @narendramodi at @PMOIndia after the #UnityRun and discover a mutual interest in ancient Indian traditions of sport, health and fitness. Thank you him for all he does to promote yoga and ayurveda across the country.” In the photo, Milind was wearing blue jeans with a maroon jacket and his signature slippers, while PM Narendra Modic was wearing kurta pajamas with a jacket.

The ‘unity run’, which Milind referred to, was a 450 km run he started barefoot from Jhansi to Delhi. Milind undertook the run to ‘celebrate 75 years of India’s independence’. It started at the Jhansi Fort on Independence Day and ended a week later near the Red Fort in Delhi. This was the second edition of the annual run.
Speaking of the run, Milind had previously said in a statement: “What better way to celebrate Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav than the Unity Run spreading the message of unity, peace and harmony. The 2022 Unity Run pays tribute to 75 years of progressive India and the glorious history of its people, culture and achievements.”
Milind started his modeling career in the early 90’s and has also appeared in music videos, most notably Alisha Chinai’s Made In India. He has also worked in several films including December 16, Rules, Bheja Fry and Bajirao Mastani. He was last seen in a cameo in the web series Masaba Masaba 2.
