Meera Chopra has said that she has never played a role like that of Kubbra Saito of the popular Netflix show Holy Games. She added that she is not “20 anymore” and thus not at the age where she could envision “something like that”. (Also Read:Priyanka Chopra’s Cousin Meera Files FIR Against Interior Designer)

Kubbra played the role of a trans woman, Kukkoo, in the Anurag Kashyap show. She was cast opposite Nawazuddin Siddiquic. Directed by Anurag and Vikramditya Motwane, Holy Games starred Saif Ali Khan, Radhika Apte, Jatin Sarna and Rajshri Deshpande in lead roles. The second season of the show also featured new contestants including Pankaj Tripathi, Kalki Koechlin, Ranvir Shorey and Amrita Subhash.

When asked if she would play a role like Kubbra from Sacred Games, Meera said, “Are you crazy?” and went on to tell ETimes, “I don’t care (even if the filmmaker is tall). I’m not 20 anymore, I’m not at the age where I’d imagine something like this would take me anywhere… It worked for Kubbra however; she got a lot of work after that, she got a Hollywood project, Foundation. But I don’t do that. To each his (her) own.” Meera also claimed that she had turned down many roles before because she was asked to kiss on screen. “I haven’t kissed on screen until now. I turned down many such films in my early days,” she said.

She added: “I feel this way. I talked to myself to analyze where I failed. I couldn’t make myself part of this industry. I realized that people in this industry like to work with their friends or the people that they know I haven’t managed to crack that code The other thing is I’m an introvert I can’t bring myself out aggressively I can’t make plans to get clicked by the paparazzi at the airport or anywhere to become.”

She also said that the star kids do good work, but outsiders like her have five to six percent of good work. Meera was most recently seen in the critically acclaimed Section 375, where she starred alongside Richa Chadha and Akshaye Khanna.
