In his documentary Life In Pink, Machine Gun Kelly says he tried to commit suicide in 2020 after the death of his father.

In his documentary, Life In Pink, Colson Baker, popularly known as Machine gun Kelly, revealed that he attempted suicide after his father’s death. He said his girlfriend, Megan Fox, was on the phone with him when he put the gun in his mouth. MGK’s father fell ill in 2019 and later passed away on July 5, 2020. In his documentary, recalling his father’s death and the trauma he suffered afterward, MGK said: “I flew to my father’s apartment to clean up all this stuff. I had a really weird interaction with this neighbor who told all these things. things I didn’t want to hear. That whistled me even more because I couldn’t get a closure on it. I didn’t want to leave my room and I started to get really, really, really dark.”

Then he remembered the time he called his girlfriend Megan Fox and tried to commit suicide. He said, “I kept getting paranoid that someone was going to come and kill me. I used to sleep with a shotgun by my bed, and one of the days I just snapped. I called Megan, I was like, ‘You’re not here for this me.’ I’m in my room and I’m driving her mad dude I put the gun in my mouth and I yell on the phone and like the barrel is in my mouth I’m going to cock the gun and the bullet when it comes back up just hit the grenade. Megan is dead silent.”

On June 6, 2020, on his fourth studio album Hotel Diablo’s birthday, MGK announced the death of his father on Twitter. He wrote: “I had plans today for Hotel Diablo’s one year anniversary. That album was all I wanted to say and I know it’s close to my fans, but my dad took his last breath this morning and I’ve never felt like this before. Felt a deep pain in my life. I put my phone down. Love you.”
