Meanwhile, Raksha Bandhan has earned 41.6 crore to date. Judging by the reports, it only collected 1 crore on Friday, 1.20 crore on Saturday and 1.80 crore on Sunday.
Laal Singh Chaddha, directed by Advait Chandan, is the Hindi adaptation of Forrest Gump. It stars too Kareena Kapoor, Mona Singh and Naga Chaitanya. The movie opened at 11.70 crore, and has been underperforming ever since.
The movie made around it 49 crore in the first week. Speaking of the box office fate, Mona Singh previously told Hindustan Times: “I’m not a movie-like person and I don’t understand box office at all. This is the third movie of my life. What’s so satisfying is that whoever made the movie has seen only good things to say about it. That’s what I infer from it. I don’t want to think about the short term things like how much money it’s brought in, that’s beyond me. I’m sure I’m part of a film that will be remembered for a long time.”
