Actor Kareena Kapoor talked about the time she got married and how people advised her not to take the step because after that it’s over for her. In a recent interview, Kareena said that after she tied the knot, now everyone is getting married like ‘it’s cool, fine’. She also added that she wanted to get married, although the thought of not getting a job crossed her mind. (Read also | Kareena Kapoor wishes ‘witness’ Saif Ali Khan on his birthday)

Kareena tied the knot with actor Saif Ali Khan in 2012. They are parents of two sons – Taimur Ali Khan and Jehangir Ali Khan. Kareena married JP Dutta’s Refugee (2000) opposite actor Abhishek Bachchan more than a decade after making her Bollywood debut.

In an interview with Bollywood Bubble, Kareena said: “Of course people always said, don’t get married, it’s over. But I say these are things I’ve done naturally and now it’s cool to get married and now it’s okay. But the whole idea is that you have to do things when you want to do them i wanted, i wanted to be like this, okay, well what’s going to happen, it’s fine, i’m not getting a job, but i wanted to get married at the time and so i I done it.”

She also added: “It wasn’t a blueprint plan that I had to do this and then that. I don’t have anyone to give me this advice or we sit and plan. I’m the last person to do all these….There is no plan, it’s just following exactly what I want to do. If it’s crossed boundaries in any way, it is.”

Kareena was recently featured in Advait Chandan’s Laal Singh Chaddha, an adaptation of the 1994 Academy Award-winning film Forrest Gump, starring Tom Hanks. The film also stars Aamir Khan, Naga Chaitanya and Mona Singh. She also directs Sujoy Ghosh, based on Keigo Higashino’s Devotion of Suspect X. Kareena will start shooting for Hansal Mehta’s film in September. She will also produce the film in association with Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Telefilms.
