Karan Johar opens up about Bollywood ‘slander’
Karan Johar started the episode by saying that he and Alia Bhatt discussed how they never thought there would be another season of Koffee With Karan. When Ranveer asked them why, Karan and Alia joked about how he was oblivious to things. KJO even called him ‘Ghajini beyond Ghajini’, referring to how he forgets things. He then said, “Do you know we were vilified as an industry? For two years we were absolutely put in the dungeon. And even I’ve been through a lot. And it wasn’t an easy time. And that’s when it was like the snake emojis came out.” came every time Koffee With Karan was mentioned And at some point I also thought I was never going to come back with this show because there was a lot of attack and where you were in those two years I’m not quite sure.”
Ranveer replied that he always knew there would be many new seasons of the show. “I had no doubts and I have no doubts that you will continue to do more and more seasons of this show because that is all baseless, unfair and unjustified,” said the Gully Boy actor.
Karan agreed with Ranveer’s statement, saying it was mainly “nameless” and “faceless” trolls who had it aimed at him. He also stated that the trolls would either call him “GayJo” or use a snake emoji for him. “What part of me feels or resembles a snake, I don’t know. And I want to tell everyone that I am far from one, in fact I am far from one,” said the filmmaker.
While the first episode of Coffee With Karan 7 was a hit, there are many more to come and fans can’t wait to see their favorite celebs on the Koffee couch.
