Johnny Depp is not in talks with Disney to return as Captain Jack Sparrow, according to his rep. Reports suggested that after his recent win in the defamation case against ex-wife Amber Heard, Disney was in talks with the actor to return to the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, although his representatives have denied the same, as reported by Fox News.

Recent reports suggested that Depp got $301 million from the studios to get his favorite character back on screen for another movie. Although it seems that such a development has not happened. Earlier, Depp spoke about his intentions to play in a pirates of the caribbean film again and insisted he will not return to the franchise.

During his court hearing, Heard’s attorney Ben Rottenborn confronted the actor with a statement he made to the press, asking, “If Disney came to you with $300 million and a million alpacas, nothing on this earth would make you to go back and work with Disney in a ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ movie, right?” Depp then answered the question, saying, “That’s true.”

After his trial win, Depp has focused on his music career and has performed concerts with Jeff Beck. The actor will also release a release new album next month. In a statement released on social media following the verdict of the case, Johnny claimed he now plans to move forward, writing, “The best is yet to come and a new chapter has finally begun.”
