The choreographer says dealing with different temperaments over the years has been a great learning phase for her

Choreographer Geeta Kapoor started her film career when she joined the company of choreographer Farah Khan at the age of 15. After training different actors for more than three decades, the 49-year-old admits that working in movies is no easy feat. She shares what it’s been like to get actors to dance, saying, “It’s been a great learning experience — from dealing with different temperaments to working in all kinds of environments under all kinds of pressure. When you work with actors, you carefully work to ensure that the work is done with ease and produces good results for both the artist and your craft.”

Though she can now be seen in many reality TV shows, Kapoor has been a choreographer for movies like Dil Toh Pagal Hai (1997), Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998), mohabbatein (2000), Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham (2001), Saathiya (2002), Kal Ho Na Ho’ (2003) and Main Hoon Na (2004), ao. She shares an experience that stands out to her, saying, “My best memories are of Main Hoon Na for several reasons. It meant hard work from every member of the cast and crew. And the Darjeeling schedule was the most memorable, as we had a lived and worked as a family for a month.”

Is there anyone in the industry who has played a vital role in helping her make a mark? “Several people have been instrumental in making a difference at every stage of my career, but working with the boss, Farah Khan, has made me the personality I am today,” Kapoor says with a smile.
