Kapil Verma’s Om: The battle within of Aditya Roy Kapura and Sanjana Sanghi will be out soon, and recently in an exclusive conversation with Pinkvilla, the actress talked about her preparations for the film. “It’s very crucial to get your body language right because when you’re working as a cop you have to walk, talk and be a certain way. My character Kavya is a cop, but she’s also a girl – her heart is beating, her mind is thinking and she is feeling everything she feels. I also didn’t want to give her colored hair, stripes and fancy clothes. We kept it very simple, I barely wore any make-up and we really tried to keep it as fair as possible,” says Sanjana.
As part of her preparation, she also spoke with a few ex-cops. “Preparation is very important to me, at least at this point where I as an actor – I don’t have to turn on and off. I am now with Ratna madam (Ratna Pathak Shah), we are shooting for Dhak Dhak in Leh. You know, when we come back from the set, she’s a completely different person and I’m still lost in my character’s thoughts. Right now I’m at that stage where I’m going to what degree I need to go to feel prepared,” she shares.
Are they tripping over in the meantime? Sarabhai vs Sarabhai, while shooting for Dhak Dhak with Shah, who played Maya Sarabhai in the popular show? “Travel is an understatement. We shoot in a very difficult location, we are literally in the mountains, and whenever it gets too stressful we just share Sarabhai jokes because we all grew up with it. It’s epic,” Sanjana signs.
