Arjun Kapoor is one of the most esteemed actors of Bollywood today. Arjun debuted in 2012 with Ishaqzaade, alongside Parineeti Chopra and established himself with films such as 2 States, Half Girlfriend, Gunday and Ki & Ka. With his hard work, he has successfully created a niche for himself. The actor was last seen in Mohit Suri’s Ek Villain Returns and has been praised for his portrayal of a wealthy brat named Gautam Mehra.
In an exclusive Pinkvilla interview with Himesh Mankad, Arjun Kapoor expressed his admiration for Ajay Devgn. He said: “I really look up to Ajay Devgn’s career as a reference point, if I may say so. He is a source of inspiration for me. The way he has managed to cultivate his audience. He’s done performance movies, he’s done action, he’s done comedy with Rohit sir, Singham and Drishyam too. He is also a director, producer and distributor. He has created a legacy. He is also working with my father on Maidan and I am so happy. Somewhere I feel I’m on my way; Subconsciously I have always mixed to follow his career. He’s so relaxed about it. It’s not about imitating someone’s career. It is only as a reference that despite the variety of work he did, he continued to follow his own path. I’d like to learn from him.” The actor’s candid thought of a career path like Ajay Devgn’s is really noticeable.
On the work front, Arjun Kapoor was last seen in Mohit Suri’s Ek Villain returns, also with John Abraham, Disha Patani and Tara Sutaria. He is preparing for the release of his next film The Lady Killer, starring Bhumi Pednekar. The actor is also working on Vishal Bharadwaj’s Kuttey, which is expected to be a dark comedy with an ensemble cast.
