Arjun Kapoor and John Abraham shared the link to the new song on their social media accounts, calling it a “song for the love that grows inside you.” The music video for the song started with Arjun Kapoor and Tara Sutaria enjoying some laughter and romantic moments in their relationship, before moving on to John Abraham and Disha Patani at the beginning of their romance.
The song shifts to a dark mode towards the end of the song. Tara Sutaria is seen scared in one scene and in tears in another, with Arjun crying hugging her in one scene. John Abraham can also be seen in tears for Disha in multiple scenes in the song.
Dil was sung by Raghav Chaitanya, while the musical duo Kaushik-Guddi composed it. The lyrics are written by Kunaal Vermaa, while the song is produced by T-Series.
Ek Villain Returns is set eight years after the events of Ek Villain, the 2014 film starring Sidharth Malhotra, Shraddha Kapoor and Riteish Deshmukh. In the original movie, Riteish’s Rakesh was a serial killer who killed women who were rude to him. In the sequel, a new villain is introduced who targets women who did not reciprocate the feelings of men. The action thriller has sparked tension over whether John or Arjun is the real villain.
Ek Villain Returns, which like the first film will be directed by Mohit Suri, is scheduled for a theatrical release on July 29. John and Arjun have named July 29 as Villaintines Day.
