In a recent chat with guest host David Alan Grier on Jimmy Kimmel Livetold Ashton Kutcher about his upcoming movie and how his wife Mila Kunis responded to his mustache for his next role. In BJ Novak’s directorial debut, Vengeance, Kutcher returns to the industry after a hiatus as a Texas-sized character.
During the interview, Kutcher spoke of taking on the role and keeping Novak’s script: “When I first saw this character, I thought, ‘This is interesting.’ He had a kind of Boss Hog vibe to him.” He added: “I was like, ‘Okay, I think this guy has this air of sophistication.'” As for the moustache, Kutcher revealed with a laugh that Kunis “had to do with it. And that was all fun. ” Kutcher joked, “We’ve been together for seven years. She said, ‘Oh, it’s like a different guy!’
Kutcher also reveals how Kunis got him to give up his ticket to space through Virgin Galactic. He recalls, “I had to be on the first flight,” he added, “and then we had kids. And she said, ‘Do you want to be on the first flight or, like, the 50th flight? She had sounds logical and — yes, she made me give up,” ET said.
While Kutcher has recently been candid about his battles with vasculitis, he didn’t mention his condition during this interview, but did speak of his painful preparation to run a marathon in support of his nonprofit Thorn. He explains, “I went for a training run last weekend. I loved 17 miles, my nipples started bleeding, man.” He continued, “What’s happening now? My legs were fine, but my nipples were on fire.”
