Alia praised her Heart of Stone colleague Gal Gadot and said she was one of the reasons the actor was “extremely excited” about the film. Alia said she virtually met the film’s director after reading the script, rather than having to travel all the way to meet him in person.
According to a Pinkvilla report, Alia was quoted as saying in a recent interview: “My team sent me the script and they said, ‘You know they’d like you to read the script and if you’re interested we can go to Zoom to meet you with the director.” Thanks to Zoom, a lot of this has become possible. You don’t have to fly to a meeting. You can meet virtually. I read the script and of course I heard that Gal Gadot was going to play in it and also produce it, which I was really excited about because I’m such a great admirer of her work and just the person, the force that she is.
Heart of Stone comes out on Netflix. In July, Alia announced that she had finished filming her role in the upcoming action drama. Alia shared the news on Instagram, along with a series of photos from the film set. She thanked her co-stars and the director for the unforgettable experience. Alia reportedly began filming Heart of Stone in May, following her April wedding to Ranbir in Mumbai. She announced her pregnancy in June.
Alia shared in a recent interview how she balanced shooting an action movie while pregnant. Speaking to Variety, Alia had said: “It was my first major English film experience in Hollywood and I had quite the task because I was shooting an action movie for the first time. But I’m also pregnant, so there were so many layers where I I had to deal with. But they made it so seamless and so easy and so comfortable for me. It’s something I’ll never forget because of how beautiful and how well I was treated.”
Alia’s upcoming projects include Brahmastra, her first film with Ranbir Kapoor. The Ayan Mukerji movie will hit theaters on September 9. She also has Karan Johar’s Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani with Ranveer Singh. The film also stars Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan and Shabana Azmi.
