Akshay told PTI: “I want to try out different types of content. I don’t want to form a single image. But one thing I make sure that the films I make should be family entertainers.” The actor also specifically said that he will not be associated with ghinoni (dirty) movies.
“I don’t want to make a ghinoni (dirty) movie. Even if it’s a psychothriller movie or a social drama, it should be watched by families without any hesitation. I believe in making movies considering its message and the commercial aspects , which will entertain the family audience,” he added.
Earlier this week, Akshay’s film Raksha Bandhan received a U-certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification. Expressing happiness, filmmaker Aanand L Rai told Hindustan Times: “For me, this is more of a personal win. I started out making a clean family entertainer. That was certainly the thought too when I made Tanu Weds Manu (2011) and Tanu Weds Manu Returns (2015) “But I have a U/A certificate for them. It hardly makes any difference, but it’s a moral victory for me.”
In addition to Akshay, the film will also have a star actor Bhumi Pednekar in Raksha Bandhan. Raksha Bandhan is written by Himanshu Sharma and Kanika Dhillon. It is produced by Color Yellow Productions, Zee Studios, Alka Hiranandani in association with Cape Of Good Films.
