After more than ten years in the industry, actor Abhishek Banerjee has embarked on a new phase of his career where he is the face of projects, and he admits that this comes with a lot of pressure and responsibility.

“All these years I wanted to establish myself as an actor first, work on earning the trust of the directors and producers that ‘Okay, we’ve got one guy, and we can give them this specific role,’” Banerjee says.

Over the years, he has proven his mettle as an actor through projects such as: Mirzapur, Paatal Lok, Kaali, Unpaused, Ajeeb Daataans and dream girl† He even has several projects in the pipeline for release.

“The year has been very good for me because I have been working non-stop. And I want to keep doing this kind of work because I’ve played some very different characters, playing romantic roles in one, a dumb man in the other, and a dark man in one,” he says, adding: “I’m experimenting a lot this time. Also, the responsibility is greater when you run a show or a movie. Today I feel more responsibility as an actor and as a creative person to make the best product.”

Explaining his state of mind, Banerjee says, “It’s a very different kind of responsibility. Phele, I just acted and wasn’t worried about how a project will go. Now, when you’re the lead face of a particular project, you think like two everywhere. better think about it.”

The actor, who was recently in Delhi for a long time filming his next web project, goes on to share: “You think about how, what you want to do and how you want to present it. There are a lot of thoughts in your head. When the camera turns on though, I go away from the stress and just enjoy acting.Action ise phele aur bad mein bahut stress hota hai.”
