Actor Aamir Khan has donated 25 lakh for the flood-affected population of Assam, Chief of State Himanta Biswa Sarma shared in a tweet. On Twitter, the CM wrote: “Eminent Bollywood actor Amir Khan extended a helping hand to the flood-affected people of our state by making a generous contribution of 25 lakh towards CM Relief Fund. Assam has been ravaged by devastating floods in recent weeks. Several other celebrities including actor Arjun Kapoor, singer Sonu Nigam and producer Bhushan Kumar have also donated to the CM’s Relief Fund.
Condolences to the flood-affected people of Assam, the famous singer Shri Sonu Nigam contributed” 5 lakh to CM Relief Fund to aid in our relief and rehabilitation efforts. I am deeply grateful to him for his concern and benevolence,” Assam CM tweeted on June 21.
A day before Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted: “Acknowledge with gratitude the contribution of 11 lakh to CMRF by Shri Bhushan Kumar, Film and Music Producer and CMD of @TSeries, with the efforts of Shri Rohit Shetty. I appreciate his concern about #AssamFloods. The donation will help our fight against flooding.” He also thanked Ajun Kapoor for donating 5 lakh for the relief work in the state.
According to the PTI news agency, 21 lakh people have been affected by the flooding in the state. The death toll from this year’s floods has risen to 134, according to a bulletin issued by the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA).
According to the report, the general flood situation in Assam showed signs of improvement on Tuesday, with most rivers showing a declining trend. In total, 2,254 villages in 61 income circles are still affected by flooding, while 1,91,194 people have found shelter in 538 relief camps.
